Subsidence Studies
Since 2020, WDWA GSA has actively been collaborating with the other Kern County Subbasin GSAs and the Department of Water Resources State Water Project California Aqueduct Subsidence Program (CASP) to determine the causes of subsidence along Mileposts 195 to 215 of the California Aqueduct. To date, the results of these technical studies have indicated that subsidence impacts on this reach of the California Aqueduct is not caused by WDWA-GSA groundwater extraction. Findings from these studies were incorporated into the 2024 WDWA GSA GSP. For transparency, copies of these technical studies are provided below.
